Photos, videos, audio recordings: we all produce them, every day. They hold up less and less before a judge, an insurer or an opposing party: a file can be altered, metadata rewritten, and artificial intelligence makes forgeries hard to detect. Until now, only those who knew how to build evidence, or could afford an official report, were able to defend their rights with confidence.
We created Scealia to correct that imbalance: establishing solid proof in seconds, from a smartphone, without handing your files to anyone and without any technical knowledge.
A name inherited from the seal
Scealia comes from the seal. Since antiquity, affixing a seal to a document has meant guaranteeing its origin, fixing its content and attesting that it has not been altered.
The Latin sigillum spread across Europe: in French it gave the words sceau, sceller, and the scellés placed on a door or an exhibit; in English, to seal. Scealia is a word we coined at the crossroads of the two: it keeps the French “sce-” of sceau and sceller, and the English sound of seal. It is pronounced “see-lia”.
We invented nothing: we gave the seal the means of its era. The cryptographic fingerprint has replaced the wax; anchoring on a public blockchain and the qualified electronic seal have replaced the signet ring. The gesture has not changed: seal a content today, to be able to prove it tomorrow.

The founding team
Behind Scealia, we are two: Samuel Fauvel and Andy Amoordon. Trainee lawyers at the Paris Bar School (École de formation professionnelle des barreaux de la cour d'appel de Paris - EFB), one holding a law degree and the other a PhD in computer science, we have made the law of evidence and certification technologies our field. Scealia is its continuation.
In a proof service, every legal requirement must be translated exactly into code, and every technical guarantee must be defensible in law.

Every claim on this site and in our certificates is grounded in the law. We state what a Scealia certificate establishes, and what it does not.

Our certificates can be verified by anyone, free of charge, even without us: the public-blockchain anchor and the qualified seal would outlive Scealia.
